...What I am saying is that under the watch of a black man that comet destroyed the entire Eastern seaboard. So, if history is any indicator, a vote for Barack Obama in 2008 is essentially a vote for the complete and total obliteration of the human race.

I guess I'm just sick of the harsh back and forth that is happening between progressive bloggers on this and other sites.
(I also hope no one takes me seriously with this diary!)
Another superdelegate goes to Obama
"I'm doing so because I believe it's clear that the American people are hungry for change," Culver said in an interview with The Des Moines Register. "I believe they're looking for a president to push back on the special interests and I think it's also time for a fresh new approach to governing in Washington, D.C. and believe senator Obama represents this new approach."
About a month too late, Chet, but thanks for the offer.
At some recent John McCain campaign rallies, John Mellencamp's "Our Country" and "Pink Houses" have been booming out over the speakers. Uplifting heartland rock must have seemed like a smart pick, but there's just one problem: Mellencamp is an ardent Democrat. And, until recently, he supported John Edwards - who had been playing "Our Country" and "Small Town" at his rallies. Mellencamp hasn't yet made a public response, but his reps are quietly reaching out to McCain and asking him to stop playing his tunes. (McCain's press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.)
Oops. Thank God he didn't use anything from Neil Diamond.

I half remember the election of 1984. My family was living in San Antonio at the time.
My dad held me up after he voted for Mondale and had me pull the lever on one of those old school voting machines. It must have been 7am, because I remember walking with him from the voting booth to my classroom down the hall. I had my handmade "Vote for Mondale" sign in tow.

This is news from the Des Moines Register that Ed Fallon will challenge Rep. Leonard Boswell for his seat in Congress
Fallon takes on BoswellJASON CLAYWORTH
REGISTER STAFF WRITEREd Fallon, a former state representative from Des Moines, is sticking his feet back into politics.
Fallon, who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2006, is challenging U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell, a 3rd District Democrat.
They will square off during the June 3 Democratic primary.
This is from an email sent by my friend Ed Fallon, who happens to be running for Congress in the 3rd District of Iowa, challenging Rep. Leonard Boswell in the primary. Ed's a former state representative and gubernatorial candidate. He describes an event at his precinct caucus where support was decided with a game of rock, paper, scissors.

As an Edwards fan of sorts (he's my second choice), I wouldn't be crushed if he won the caucus. I'm not trolling here by any means, or looking for a fight, but I pose this as a serious question in search of an answer to our party's potential nominee.
I'm sure this question has been answered before, but maybe some Edwards supporters can clarify this for me here.
How will it possible for him to: 1) Beat Hillary (or Obama) in other states with only $17 mil to spend until the convention, and 2) defend himself with negligable funds after the primary season is over from attacks?
I only ask this, because I really wish that Edwards had foregone federal matching funds and just opened up his deep wallet, sold his house, etc., for this campaign. Perhaps with his recent fundraising prowess, he could have remained competetive with Obama or Hillary through fundraising rather than relying on public funds.
